This tutorial primarily talks about settings related to General, Connection and eMule options in FlashGet.

Open FlashGet, on the the Menu Bar at the top, Select Tools -> Options, shown below:

In the Options setting panel :
1. General
Open the FlashGet program panel，Click the "Options" tab at the top， and select "General"：
Use eMule module(FlashGet needs to be restarted) Make sure you select this option.
2. Monitor
Open the FlashGet program panel，Click the "Options" tab at the top， and select "General"：
Monitor Ed2k links Make sure you select this option.
3. eMule
Open the FlashGet program panel，Click the "Options" tab at the top， and select "eMule"：
Nick Name:
Fill whatever you like，such as：share the internet
Global Maximum Download Rate:
Adjust it to the top speed of your internet service, making it slightly higher than your internet service speed(about 5%, not too much) is helpful for increasing your downloading speed.
Global Maximum &Upload Rate:
Set up this option accordingly. The higher the more you will be sharing, also the more upoloading bandwidth the program will take up.
Maximum Disk &Cache Size:
Using Cache is good for protecting your hard drive. The higher this value the the better the protection. But it will take up more of your RAM.
Shrink If Free Physical Memory is Lower than:
This sets up a threshold so that FlashGet won't be taking up too much Ram while downloading.
Maximum connections per task:
It is recommended that you set this as 500 or 800, the more connections the quicker you will download, however it will also take up too much system resources.
Connections to keep per task:
It is recommended that you use the default value
ED2K(edonkey,eMule) Please be sure to select this one.
Supports ED2k network
Kad(kadmelia) Please be sure to select this one.
Supports Kad Network
Local Port:
It is recommended that you make any changes here.
Random:
Select random port.
Server List ...
It is recommended that you make any changes here.
